Today is a day of service for me. Her Majesty had oral surgery on Friday. I am still taking care of her. Friday I took the day off from work, escorted her to the appointment and waited. I took her home, filled her prescriptions, cooked her scrambled eggs (which I brought to her in bed) and administered her pain pills and antibiotics. Since then I have been waiting on her and being her nurse maid. These acts of service certainly do not have to be viewed through the prism of D/s. It is something any loving husband should do for his wife.

While web surfing in the waiting room I stumbled upon an interesting post by an acquaintance of mine on Max and Fetlife. Apparently he is looking for an “owner”. He wants to serve a prodomme but he is going through a lean period so he can’t afford to pay even for an introductory session.

I was mystified by his decision to relegate his search only to pros. Granted there is a certain romance and mystique to professional domination. Many of these ladies certainly have great expertise in BDSM play. Unfortunately much like professional chefs who don’t want to cook when they get home, the last thing many of these ladies want to do is play after a hard day at the “office”.

Some of the pros who answered his post stated they would be open to having a slave but that the sub in question would have to be genuinely helpful and could not expect any play in return. Most of them already had a significant other so there would be no possibility of a romance developing from the arrangement. Does he really want a service oriented relationship with a professional dominant in exchange for no play and no romance?

What he really wants is to be the alpha slave of a prodomme as well as her live in lover. He achieved this status with a prodomme at one point in his life so his desire to repeat the experience is understandable. But it’s a pretty tall order to ask lightening to strike in the same place twice. When I spoke to him he told me it was simply a matter of preference and of course his preferences are none of my business. He is good guy, well liked by many in the pro scene and probably has a better chance of fulfilling his quest than most in his position would.

His post was certainly thought provoking. Some of the resulting conversations suggest an interesting connection between service and play. Is there a quid pro quo implied? It’s not as explicit as the one in a paid client relationship but there do seem to be parallels. No matter how much a sub sincerely desires to serve in the end he also wants to be played with. I don’t think there are many subs out there who find ultimate satisfaction doing laundry and scrubbing floors without also receiving some “special attention” from Mistress. In fact most men can’t do laundry or scrub floors to begin with or do it poorly in order to purposely insight “punishment”! Hence the lament from pros that hoards of time wasters offer them “service oriented submission” when what they really want is free play time!

I was struck by some of the replies to his post. The Dommes were extremely kind and supportive. One invited him over for coffee. Some of the clients who responded were less polite. Predictably they dragged him down to their level, viewing his search through the only prism they can understand; that of a paying customer in a strip club. Why should he get a lap dance for free when they are not entitled to receive the same service? Money for services rendered is the only language many of them understand.

You get a lot of great things seeing a pro; expertise, wonderful toys, awesome outfits, beauty, intelligence and sometimes even friendship. But one thing you generally don’t find with a pro is love.

I don’t believe anyone gets to have it all. I made a choice. Much of my life is spent in service not just to my wife but to my family as a whole. I am playing nurse to Her Majesty this weekend. We will both be doing the same for our son in two weeks when he has oral surgery. Her Majesty and I have spent hours trying to fill out forms for financial aid which are so complex contractors are often hired to help in the process. Today I am taking my mother to lunch just as I do every weekend like clockwork. Next weekend we are taking her to the theater. I am sure it will be fun but some of the logistics may prove complicated. Many of life’s logistics seem to be overly complicated these days. Nevertheless this is the life I have chosen. It is certainly not always sexy but there is a lot of love in it. Believe me when I say it is not the perfect BDSM fantasy most of the time.

I looked for love in the pro scene and found it sorely lacking. Folks have told me I can have my cake and eat it too but I have serious doubts about that. I would prefer to roll with the punches compromise where I have to and remain an honest and faithful husband to Her Majesty.

Mistress Wynter (bless her heart) wrote a reply to a post long since deleted on this blog. I found it the other day when going through my e-mail. I think it sums up my experience to a tee and speaks directly to clients who make the mistake of seeking love in the pro scene.

Cats, Squirrels And Wolverines.....Oh My!

Her Majesty and I have spent the past few years hoping our son would get into a good college. He’s a great kid; super smart but not the most industrious. As it turns out we needn’t have worried. So far he has gotten into 4 of the 6 colleges he has applied to. Needless to say we are pleased and proud.

My son and I are best of friends. Lately I have been recording his music in my studio. Turns out he has a really beautiful singing voice in addition to being an accomplished guitarist and banjo picker. He writes great songs. I would rather record his music than my own these days; time to pass the torch to the next generation. We look at the world in much the same way. I am going to miss him when he goes to college.

Soon Her Majesty and I will be empty nesters. For the first time in 18 years we will have the house to ourselves. We will have an opportunity to be more open about our D/s relationship and play regularly if we want to. This sounds like a blessing but it may cause problems. Change is always a challenge. Will my heightened expectations lead to problems? Will our relationship change to accommodate our new found freedom or remain essentially the same?

When I returned home she made a delicious lunch as a peace offering. We spent the remainder of the afternoon lazily watching television. She put her feet on me and allowed me to kiss, suck and worship them. Later when we retired to bed, she lowered herself onto my face and my tongue slipped inside of her. What Have You Learned From BDSM?

Tis the season for reflection. In that spirit, i was thinking about how BDSM has influenced me. These are a few things that the lifestyle has taught me:

1. Selflessness-i have learned that putting someone's needs, wants, and desires before mine can be an extremely rewarding experience.

2. Tolerance-There are some kinks that i just don't get. However, i have learned that they are just as important to those who indulge in said kinks as mine are to me. As a result, i have learned not to judge but to embrace other people's kinks (even it i don't practice them myself).

3. Patience-Waiting may be the hardest part but anticipation can often intensify the experience!

4. Self awareness-i have learned to embrace my kink as a part of who i am. As a result, i am more comfortable in my own skin and a happier individual

What a terrific list! I can relate to all four of your points.

1) In the beginning D/s and BDSM were all about me. I was very much a "do me" sub. Serving a pro I discovered that I had a sincere desire to be of service and please my Mistress. I learned that being a client! I then took that knowledge back to my relationship at home and put it to good use!

2) I find the lack of tolerance in the world and even in the loosely structured BDSM community truly astounding sometimes! Of course if you want to change the world the first step is changing yourself. Part of my journey has been to silence the judgmental voices inside my head.

3) Patience! Wow! That's a big one. Learning to be patient in a lifestyle relationship can be quite a challenge. Things don't always go where I want them to or happen on the time table I would like. Since I have asked Her Majesty to drive the car I can't very well start grabbing the wheel! We will go where we are going and we will get there when we get there. Boy have I struggled with that one!

4) Self acceptance is huge. That's the part where I have to speak with others in the community, especially my submissive brethren to remind myself I am not alone. Since Her Majesty does not want to socialize with others in the lifestyle that usually means blogging or posting on bulletin boards like this one.

Yesterday was an amazing day for boot sightings; a veritable embarrassment of riches!

When I stepped out of my office for lunch I was confronted by a bevy of boot wearing beauties. These ladies were not wearing flat riding style boots, or worse yet; “Uggs!” (Was there ever a more appropriate name for a brand of feminine footwear?) I am referring to sky high stilettos, towering platforms, form fitting black leather shafts that hug the contour of the female leg and enhance its mystic beauty!

After three sightings in as many minutes I was salivating and not because I was craving a sandwich. Crossing the street I spied the piesta resistance; a tall gorgeous woman in a pair of black patent leather lace up boots with silver eyelets! Be still my beating heart! I could not stop staring as she passed me by. No doubt I looked more like a hungry wolf than a fawning submissive.

Was she in the industry? Who can tell? I have a suspicion that real prodommes probably dress down in their vanilla lives. There is a well known prodomme I always see walking around my neighborhood. I have run into her so many times that it has practically become a non event. She is usually wearing nondescript sweats and looks nothing like the striking blonde Domina who appears on her website.

Apparently we use the same health club. Introducing myself in the elevator, I told her my Max Fisch handle but she had no idea who I was. Way to burst my bubble Mistress! We had a nice chat, then she went on her way. Seeing her has become just another upside of living in my neighborhood.

On my walk home I had yet another another sighting. A tall blonde wearing six inch stiletto black leather platform boots. I stood and watched as she crossed the street. Pro Vs. Lifestyle.....Really?

Yes I know I said I would not discuss pro domination here for awhile. Here I go breaking my own rules again. I guess the interview with Ms. Boss got me thinking about the subject.

I find folks in the pro scene can be very sensitive and defensive when I post about their world. But there is probably a reason for that. Folks in the “lifestyle” scene can be extremely judgmental about pros and clients alike. I really don’t think there is any reason to pit pro and lifestyle against each other and see who “wins”. It seems like a very silly point of view to take.

Pros provide a valuable service to the BDSM community. Can anyone honestly say that lifestyle folk have nothing to learn from experienced pros like Irene Boss, Mistress Wynter or Troy Orleans? Pshaw I say! Men who are trying to talk their partners into pursuing a D/s lifestyle should be so lucky as to have one of these terrific Dommes share their knowledge about the fine art of female domination! A small minority of submissive men are fortunate enough to have SOs this open minded. The majority are not. Thus a potentially valuable resource is lost.

It’s true that professional domination is a business. It's true that prodommes work in the adult entertainment industry. But they occupy a very special niche. I really liked the comparison Ms. Boss made in her interview; “ a lot of what escorts do is to zone out and disconnect whereas BDSM is about connecting”. That is the crux of the matter IMHO. There is an emotional connection between Mistress and client. A ProDomme is not selling her body. She is getting inside your head. There is a world of difference. Yes there are bad pros out there. There are also bad lawyers, dentists, accountants and psychotherapists.

I try to keep this blog varied and interesting for myself and my readers. For that reason I like to mix things up a lot. One post I may talk about femdom art. The next I might talk about something related to pro domination. Sometimes I will talk about an aspect of my relationship with Her Majesty. I have found it problematic to only discuss my primary relationship here. I feel it puts a lot of pressure on me to “deliver”. I never want to feel like this blog is driving my relationship with Her Majesty in any way shape or form. There are certain things I keep private for that reason. I don’t feel obliged to put a "blow by blow" account of everything that happens between us out on the Internet. Conversely I often discover things that are fun, sexy or illuminating and have nothing to do with our relationship that I would like to post about. Hence you will find me posting about a variety of subjects here.

The common threads on “Her Majesty’s Plaything” are Female Domination and BDSM. I consider anything under that umbrella fair game. Just thank your lucky stars I rarely use this blog to post about politics! ;-)

I just finished listening to a fascinating edition of MASOCAST featuring Ms. Irene Boss. For the uninitiated, MASOCAST is an excellent series of BDSM related podcasts. Irene Boss is a highly acclaimed professional dominatrix who also produces her own line of FemDom erotica.

Although I have never met Ms. Boss in person I have been acquainted with her work on film for many years and have spoken with her at length on various D/s bulletin boards including The Scene which she owns and moderates. I was immediately drawn to her films because of their unmistakable authenticity. Ms. Boss does not just pretend when she plays with her partners on screen. She is sincere about capturing genuine human connections in BDSM play and it shows.

Ms. Boss is direct, candid, super intelligent and uncannily perceptive. She still has that great laugh I first heard while watching “Extreme Caning and Whipping“ many years ago. In this edition of MASOCAST Ms. Boss discusses her introduction to professional domination. She reveals that an early attraction to fetish clothing led her to pursue a career in costume design during her formative years. Saddled with student loans after graduation she tried her hand at various aspects of the adult entertainment industry and quickly found that she gravitated towards domination. Ms. Boss tells us she learned a lot about fetishism in the dancing industry. She talks about developing her Domina skills while performing at strip clubs. While the other ladies wore bikinis Irene wore uniforms, corsetry, boots and hats.

"I'm an emotional sadist so I have to tone it down to be a prodomme. I have to bring out the nicer part of myself and not psychologically wound everybody all the time. But I could get away with quite a lot of that in the strip bars and it set me apart from the other ladies. I was very different and unique. I started actually dominating men in those places without really understanding what I was doing."

Ms. Boss goes on to describe her first professional session with a client; “My first pro session I just laughed the whole time. But I thought it was kind of wonderful too because it was really honest that someone would trust me to do something like that with them.”

Ms. Boss had no mentor coming up and informs us that she learned mostly from her clients in the beginning. “Some of the crazy role plays were a lot of fun. Star Trek role plays. People who fetishize TV shows or things they had heard on the radio. I found fetishism interesting because it was so uncompromising. It wasn’t directly sexual and the fact that someone could find something like a TV show sexual was really interesting to me.”

When asked how BDSM fits into her personal life Ms. Boss explains; “I am someone who has tried everything. I have probably tried every kind of relationship you can possibly imagine and different orientations just to see where I fit in. I finally figured out that I'm a polyamorous pansexual kind of person but I also need to have a monogamous relationship to keep me grounded and be with someone who accepts me and allows me to have other relationships. Not many people can do that for another person. But most prodommes do have that interesting sexuality. We’re not like everybody else; especially if we stay in it. It would be very hard to be involved in this for very long without being multi-sexual."

Ms. Boss makes some fascinating observations during the course of her interview. Her distinction between pro-domination and the escort industry struck me; “BDSM has such a harsh rub with the escort industry because a lot of what escorts do is to zone out and disconnect whereas BDSM is about connecting.” I was also struck by her observation that "if you do BDSM all the time you have nothing to look forward to."

Of special interest to me were Irene’s recollections of her experiences at the OWK;

“The OWK was a riot because the whole thing was so strict that nobody could do it properly while they were there. It was like a giant performance art experiment. There would be men sitting on the chairs in the café and they weren’t supposed to be there so some big Broom-Hilda Domme would go in there with a riding crop and go ‘Yo! Yo! Get on the floor! You’re not supposed to be on the chair!’

The whole thing was really hilarious because the people who went kind of made it what it was. By the third or fourth day everyone would be in the groove and those men who couldn’t get into space would be locked up in a jail cell somewhere really being punished and those men who were out of line would have to crawl down the gauntlet of the Queen’s palace and get a caning. So what would happen towards the end of the celebration is that everything would fold in on itself and the men who said they couldn’t have any marks would be the ones asking for a caning or a whipping!”

For my final post of 2011 I decided to go back to basics. “Etienne’s Story” on the fabulous “Domme Chronicles” by Ferns inspired me to write my own abbreviated synopsis of my relationship with Her Majesty. I did so a little while ago and Ferns graciously posted it. I am re-posting it here as it seems a satisfactory way to sum up a very active year of blogging. Happy New Year to all of my readers and all of my kinky brethren on the Internet! See you in 2012!

I first laid eyes on Her Majesty when my band played a function at her college. She was dressed in a black Indian sari and high heels; her long black hair flowing down to the middle of her back. My first glimpse of her felt like a lightning strike and my immediate reaction was “who is that???” I invited her to smoke a joint with me between sets. We started dating and I soon discovered (much to my delight) that she was naturally dominant. She was also surrounded by men competing for her attentions. She told me I reminded her of her younger brother and treated me like a pleasant distraction. We drifted apart and saw other people for awhile. There is nothing I love more than serving Her Majesty and making her smile. She is a grounded, highly intelligent, beautiful, caring, naturally dominant woman. I love her as much today as I did the day we were married 25 years ago. I count myself a very lucky man!

Stanton often referred to his own work as "Stantoons" and IMHO he is the greatest of the cartoon style Femdom artists. I own "The Dominant Wives and Other Stories" and have reviewed it here. I also own "For the Man Who Knows His Place"(unfortunately that book is so small it could have been the prize in a box of Cracker Jacks!)

Stanton's work and biography are widely available on the Internet and he has been imitated by a host of other artists who have tried to reproduce his style. Most of you probably already know him. The artist signed himself Jim Cheff. The only illustrator of that name that I located has a different style and radically different subject matter.

The comic was written by Dalia Caravaggi.

Subbie Lunch

Today I had lunch with a sub friend of mine at a non-descript diner. Like other subbie friends of mine I met him on that infamous Internet bulletin board that shall remain nameless. We enjoyed a very average meal and were served by an irritable waitress, but the conversation was priceless. We inhabit different worlds. He has more experience in the pro scene than anyone I have ever met and has been actively sessioning for over 39 years. I will simply call him PC.

PC is smart, articulate and funny. Like me he leans slightly to the left politically and is extremely cynical (but well informed) about politics. We had fun discussing what a rouges gallery the Republican field of candidates has become. Mostly, however, we discussed kink and BDSM. PC has played with a host of Dommes up and down the east coast and has appeared in quite a few fetish videos. We had fun gossiping. There is always so much dirt to dredge up and dissect in the commercial BDSM scene. He told me about some troubles he had experienced with a Domme and about some recent health issues he had been struggling with.

At one point he asked me in a hushed voice why I think guys like us become submissive. I told him I believe my submission has its roots in my relationship with my mother but was further inspired by images from TV and comic books. He replied it was the same for him.

I enjoyed hearing what went on behind the scenes at the dungeon where my former Mistress worked. PC appeared in several of their videos and got along well with management and staff alike. “We certainly gave her a generous tribute” I quipped.

Seduction According To Arden

“This book is dedicated to my targets – past, present and future.” Curiously, reading that dedication made me smile. I was certainly more than willing to be one of Arden’s “targets”.

"The New Rules Of Attraction - How To Get Him, Keep Him & Make Him Beg For More" is not a typical dominatrix memoir. It is an instructional guide on the art of seduction for women. Ms. Arden applies what she learned as a pro-domme to the vanilla dating world and empowers her female audience to become the seductresses they have always dreamed of.

“You might wonder whether being a successful pro-domme actually requires abilities of seduction. Think of the logistics. A successful pro-domme has to be able to make men willingly pay hundreds of dollars per hour for the privilege of worshipping her or being abused by her. Since there is no sex involved he is not merely paying for pleasure – after all the prodomme can’t be bought. There may be men with disposable income who simply enjoy the sensation of being whipped but even then those men could see any pro-domme without becoming loyal to one, meaning she couldn’t count on him to support her. The average client is paying to be in his Mistress’s presence because she has seduced him.

That is what the true power of seduction is all about in my experience. True power lies in being able to make someone else completely happy about giving you what you want. And to ensure that the foremost desire of my clients, or submissives, was to please me and earn my favor, in a way, I had to make them fall in love with me. That’s where seduction comes in.”

"New Rules of Attraction" is crisp, light and well written. I found myself smiling often while reading it. Arden's style is candid, personable and often funny. She dispenses advice on fashion, seductive vocalization, entering a room dramatically, manipulating conversation for desired effect and keeping "targets" in a perpetual state of desire. Her advice ranges from common sense wisdom to Machiavellian manipulation and monolithic self marketing campaigns. She encourages her female readership to remake their identities in the image of the seductive icons they most admire. She talks about having a “flexible identity” and developing a “personal brand.” She encourages her readers to objectively assess their strengths and weaknesses and instructs them to magnify their natural attributes by a power of ten. Developing a seductive persona is not really artifice rather it is self actualization on steroids, according to Arden.

“You must understand that your identity is yours to shape. You must become who you want to be, today, because you owe it to yourself to live your life in the manner that pleases you. You should be living your seductive persona 24/7. It should be effortless.“

In Arden’s world nothing happens by chance. Everything is calculated by design. We are who we make ourselves; nothing more nothing less. If life is a game Arden strives to be the ultimate player.

“New Rules of Attraction” sits squarely in the motivational, self help genre. I remember Arden espousing titles like "The Game", "The 48 Laws of Power" and "The Art of Seduction". That type of material has never appealed to me but as I said I am not the book's target audience.

I found myself skipping over sections on fashion and dating protocol seeking clues about the identity of the author. Despite having been Arden’s “closest client” for a short time I can't help feeling like I never really knew her. In retrospect she seems like a Rubik's cube to me. There was something I genuinely liked about her. But I can’t figure out if the person I liked so much was real or just another layer of the proverbial onion. Where does artifice end and the real person begin?

Reading “New Rules of Attraction” it became clear that Arden’s clients were more than just laboratory mice or a source of income to her. We were an important part of her self-image and served to bolster an ego that was simultaneously overblown and insecure. Behind all her poise and self confidence I had the sense that Arden was seeking validation from the adoration her subs provided her. That came into sharp focus when she described trying to hold on to a dwindling client base after her dungeon shut down. Toward the end of her book I found another missing piece of the puzzle I had always wondered about.

“I had, in part, a terrible adolescence. My parents were divorced and my father was impossible to live with – explosive, abusive, erratic. His anger would terrorize those around him and would come with no warning. Sometimes I think that what I have been looking for all my adult life is someone who would be able to make it up to me.”

Arden makes deep long lasting impressions on her targets to ensure their devotion. In the chapter "Find a Need" she says the following:

"I knew that my job as a pro-domme was not just to whip someone and take his money, but to fulfill the hidden longings inside him that even he couldn't fully recognize. As a seductress your seductions must take place on a level deeper than mere sexual gratification. You must be attuned to people's needs. You must be even more attuned to your target's needs, because it will be your insinuation that you might be able to meet them that will inspire him to focus even more of his hopes on you."

What do you do with your target once he has all of his deepest hopes and dreams wrapped up in you? Presumably if you are a single woman you marry him. But in the scenario of professional dominatrix and client this approach can lead to dangerous levels of emotional attachment on the part of the client. You are implicitly making promises you can’t deliver and setting him up for a crushing disappointment. Or so it seems to me.

To her credit Ms. Arden is very fair and even handed in her description of her clients. She makes it clear that she genuinely liked her inner circle of subs. She is also careful not to provide details that could identify them. Other Domina memoirs ("Whip Smart" for example) have come under heavy criticism for their lack of consideration and discretion.

I enjoyed reading “New Rules of Attraction”. It was strangely compelling to become re-acquainted with Arden, albeit from a safe distance. She portrays herself as a socially awkward nerd who remade herself as an iconic sex Goddess. No doubt Arden did a lot to perfect her brand but she had a lot of high quality raw material to start with. She is a beautiful, highly intelligent young woman who has some evident character flaws to offset her abundant gifts.

“My own brand as a Domme combined the decadence of Marie Antoinette, the formality of the turn of the century Victoriana, and the playful sexiness of 1950s Vargas pinups.” Having been Arden’s client I can confirm she got that part spot on.

There are some in the pro scene who choose to portray Arden as some sort of sociopath. You will not find her former clients among them. I prefer to think of her as Jessica Rabbit. She's not really bad. She's just drawn that way! ;-)

I had never heard of Dave Stevens until I found his work on femdomartists.com. Although not all of his illustrations are femdom related the sirens he depicts are incredibly sexy. He was fond of depicting iconic beauties like Bettie Page and Vampirella (a personal favorite of mine). Dave Stevens passed away March 11th, 2008 from complications of leukemia at the age of 52. He was an artist of awesome talent and he will be sorely missed. Luckily his work lives on for us to enjoy.

BTW I got the MRI results back on my wrist and everything looks fine. As long as I pace myself and use my ergonomic mouse pad I should be able to continue blogging for a long time to come! ;-)

Having spoken with my subbie brethren about the origin of their perverted peccadilloes it is apparent that many blame the popular media. While I believe my early childhood interaction with female authority figures is also partially to blame, 1960s/1970s television and comic books were also a major source of inspiration for me. When Mom said comic books would rot my brain could she have been right? Did she also guess they would turn me into a (gasp!) drooling pervert?

While perusing the site femdomartists.com. I came across a number of images from traditional comics and more “specialized” publications that speak volumes regarding the role comics have played in corrupting the minds of young and old alike. I would like to share some of them with you in a series of posts entitled “Femdom in the Funny Papers”. The first installment is focused on the appearance of BDSM and Femdom in traditional comic books. We will get to the more “specialized” publications later! ;-)

Exhibit A is one of my favorite comic book femdom images of all time. What could be more of a rush for a dominant Goddess than to have Superman kiss her booted foot? ;-)

She Wears The Boots

Much to my delight Her Majesty wore her Steve Madden Olster boots to the Thanksgiving Day festivities. I assisted her in putting them on and was allowed to kneel and kiss her booted feet before we left to visit our relatives. She looked every inch the monarch in her gold studded black leather boots and cream colored top coat. On our way to the car a couple of men craned their necks to get a better look. “They were with their wives too!” she remarked with a chuckle.

Her Majesty and I are not “out” about our D/s relationship but we sometimes make a playful joke of it at family functions. I don’t hide the fact that I serve and adore her. Our relatives seem to find that endearing. She doesn’t flaunt her dominance in public but she doesn’t hide it either. People don’t know we practice D/s at home but I don’t think they would be surprised to find out we do.

At one point during the celebration I answered one of Her Majesty’s “requests” by replying; “Yes Ma’am! You’re the Boss”. She laughed and replied; “Of course I’m the boss! I wear the boots in the family!” That elicited a charming giggle from my twenty-something niece.

Black Friday found us shopping at a well known department store. Much to my delight, we spent some time browsing in the lady’s shoe department. Her Majesty did not find the brown riding boots she was seeking but it was an exciting shopping expedition for me none the less. She sent me on ahead with her bags while she finished shopping.

On my way home I stopped by the post office. I am always pleased to find new sex toys from Eden Fantasies in my P.O. Box. Twisted Pleasure is a lovely, sensibly sized dildo made entirely of glass. It would not look out of place as a Christmas tree ornament. It comes in a pretty red velvet bag. I surreptitiously left it on Her Majesty’s dressing table for her to find. “Aw poor you”, she teased, letting her towel drop and turning around. “For that you may kiss my ass.” I eagerly obeyed; tenderly kissing one cheek then the other. I soon worked myself up into a heated frenzy. “O.k. that’s enough”, she chided. “We will have more time for that later tonight.” And so we did.

Grateful For The (Not So) Little Things

I never really understood Thanksgiving growing up. How very American to have a holiday dedicated to over eating, watching football and passing out on the coach. Don’t even get me started on the friendship between the pilgrims and the Native Americans; started with turkey and ended with genocide. It took me awhile to find the meaning behind the Thanksgiving holiday which is simply put; gratitude.

Making mental gratitude lists is a practice I started in sobriety. I just celebrated my 21st sober anniversary this month. Last year’s two decade mark seemed like a momentous occasion but for some reason this anniversary slipped by barely noticed. Nonetheless I am grateful for another year of sobriety; grateful to be happy, healthy and alive. I am grateful for the roof over my head and for my job which keeps it there. I am grateful for the love of my family and grateful to Her Majesty for her tender, nurturing dominance. In short I am grateful for the little things. When I concentrate on being grateful for the little things the big looming things don’t seem quite so overwhelming. Come to think of it perhaps these things aren't so little after all.

I found a wonderful article in the New York Times that speaks about the psychological benefits of gratitude. Further Ruminations Of A Hypothetical Slut

I had an MRI done on my right wrist yesterday. They gave me the results on CD; now I have to wait until the 30th of November to get a doctor to tell me what they mean. I suppose I could put the CD in my laptop and have a look but I don’t think the results would tell me very much. The good news is that my wrist has been feeling quite a bit better since I have started sitting in a straight back chair and using a mouse on my laptop combined with an ergonomic mouse pad. Much better than using my laptop on the couch or in bed with the touch screen mouse. Also the brief break I took from using it at all really helped a lot.

Lying in bed at 6:00 this morning I had another epiphany about the pro domme thing. While I think it is true that the first Mistress I chose was (very) bad for me I do think it would be possible for me to play with others and not get emotionally involved. Because of the way I am wired there would always be that danger but to say it would happen every time is probably absurd. In my hypothetical slut imagination I can picture myself playing with lots of different ladies and having a wonderful time. The problem is I can’t do that because Her Majesty has revoked all of my hypothetical slut privileges and seeing as I am so happy at home it would be extremely foolish to risk everything I hold dear to try and have my cake and eat it too.

Perhaps I am having a bit of sour grapes syndrome about pro domination. I can’t eat the grapes therefore they must be sour. Not sure. Ultimately I seek the love of a dominant woman not just the strokes of her whip. I have that at home with Her Majesty. So best to "keep my tail quiet" as my Queen would say! ;-)

I think I have given this one enough thought for awhile. It is not a temptation for me and with our son going to college and all the renovations on our house (not to mention my teeth!) it’s a hobby I cannot afford financially either. Étienne's Story

I thought it might be interesting to post something that provides a stark contrast to my last two posts on professional domination. It's written by a fellow sub who is a friend of mine. Étienne's story is a love story; the kind of tale most subs dream about but most never realize. I found it quite by accident while reading The Domme Chronicles which turns out to be a fascinating blog written by a real life dominant woman who is smart, funny and writes really really well! :-)

I was just getting out of a horrible, abusive relationship with an unbalanced dominant woman. A year of therapy had taught me a lot about myself and really helped me turn a corner. I was spending the Christmas holiday in South Carolina, alone.

While I'd been kinky all my life, and had a fair bit of experience in my just-ended relationship, including making some videos, I'd never been to a ProDomme. I decided that would be a nice treat for myself. I think in the back of my mind, I also wanted to do something my ex would find totally objectionable, since we'd had a history of making up after breaking up, and I wanted to be sure to drive a stake through that!

So, I looked for ProDommes in South Carolina. There were two. In the whole state. I looked at their websites, and decided Mistress Ellen would be the one I'd try. She provided her IM contact information, and I clicked the link.

We agreed to meet in two days' time, at her dungeon. The policy I adopted then, and still use today, is that a session with a professional should be treated like a date. I wanted her to enjoy being with me as much as I wanted to enjoy being with her. The order of the next day was to shop for suitable clothes and a gift for her.

I arrived at her door at the appointed time. She had a beautiful smile and big, blue eyes.

Was I nervous? Yes. On the other hand, my ex had been brutal, and I had done video work with some awfully tough Ladies, and I was confident that I could handle what an established professional was likely to do.

Ruminations Of A Hypothetical Slut

An old friend of mine responded via e-mail to my post "One For The Clients". He said: "The key (and it's in your list) would be not to take it too seriously. Have fun, but keep your feet on the ground. In that respect, it's not much different than any other vice that can become a destructive force in your life. Hey, where did you get that old pic of Renee spitting in the glass... HOT!!!"

IMHO professional domination is neither inherently good or bad. Much like a bottle of alcohol it is benign until consumed. When someone takes a drink the outcome depends on the constitution of the drinker.

Professional domination can become addictive. It can be a destructive force in your life. It can also be healing, positive and nurturing. It all depends on how you are wired and you won't know that until you book your first session. A large part of the equation also rests on which dominatrix you choose to see.

There are of course extenuating circumstances. If you are married and propose to see a pro on the sly (as many clients do) you may eventually find yourself divorced. Even if domination is not technically "sex", it is highly sexual and that fine distinction will almost certainly be lost on your significant other if she ever finds out about your hobby.

If you are lucky, however, it may be that you have an understanding wife. My friend just enjoyed a visit to a pro with his wife for what amounted to a double domme session. How cool is that? This is his second marriage. He made sure to tell his new bride he was kinky from the beginning. Like I said in my last post; honesty is usually the best policy. Luckily I was honest with Her Majesty and asked her permission to see a pro. That probably saved our marriage.

Another extenuating circumstance may be financial. If you do not have sufficient funds to session and find yourself spending money that should be going toward the mortgage or your child's college tuition it should be a wake up call. When I was a client I had a cash business on the side. That worked very well.

All extenuating circumstances aside, my experience with professional domination left me with serious questions as to whether it was a viable solution for me. That has everything to do with how I am wired and almost nothing to do with whether professional domination is inherently good or bad. To be clear I enjoyed the sessions just fine. Any alcoholic will tell you that is possible to enjoy something that is bad for you. In retrospect I am living a happier, more peaceful and well balanced life without it.

I have no idea if professional domination is a viable solution for anyone else. That is a highly individual decision that I am not qualified to make for other people.

I post about the pro scene infrequently. That is partly because I am no longer a client. It's also because when I do post about this subject people in the scene get upset. This seems to happen regardless of how fair minded or even handed I try to be. Invariably someone feels the need to rush in and play defense. Relax folks. I am not attacking anyone. This is just one man's opinion based on one man's experience. Take what you need and leave the rest. Thanks for listening.

One For The Clients

I have been threatening to write something about professional domination for a while now. After multiple edits I ended up with a list of tips for prospective clients. Something about it bothered me though. After some reflection I realized that it made me sound like an expert on the subject which I definitely am not. If you want expert advice from clients with a wide range of experience you would be better off taking it from Client Nine and Half, Aarkeybabble or Paltego’s Femdom Resource.

My experience with professional domination was limited, specific and intense. I fell for a beautiful, smart, ambitious young woman who wanted to be the most successful Dominatrix in New York City. Her early marketing materials portrayed her as a kinder gentler more caring kind of pro. She denigrated what she labeled the “grovel you filthy worm” style of domination and promised a warmer, deeper emotional connection with her prospective clients. She quickly became the head of training and marketing for a very successful New York City dungeon. Although the dungeon at first appeared to be female run I later discovered it was owned by two men who worked behind the scenes and called most of the shots. My Mistress was romantically involved with one of these men. She was a submissive in her private life and he was her top. The dungeon was raided by the NYPD and shut down in 2008. My former Mistress has since retired from professional domination. She has several websites dedicated to seduction (which seems to be her calling in life) and has a book on that subject scheduled for publication in December.

It goes without saying that things behind the scenes were a lot different than I thought they were at first. I was a naïve newcomer to the scene and went in with my guard down and my hopes sky high. I can’t really blame myself for that. I also went in with a lot of emotional baggage from my relationship with Her Majesty which was going through a very troubled period. When a beautiful, smart, charismatic woman fulfills your wildest fantasies it can feel an awful lot like love. That illusion can be compounded by emotional transference especially if you are not consciously aware of it.

In the end I discovered that the dungeon in question was trying to mass market domination in much the same way McDonald’s sells hamburgers. They had a marketing plan. They had specific strategies for sucking in prospective clients emotionally and psychologically. When a training document was stolen from my Mistress and leaked on the Internet all of this became apparent. I was terribly disappointed and hurt. I felt used, manipulated and conned by someone I sincerely cared for. What I had perceived as a deeply personal relationship, a friendship at the very least, turned out to be something very different. It was a hard lesson. My experience was certainly not all negative, however. I loved the sessions and learned a lot about myself; more importantly the experience brought Her Majesty and I back together and made our relationship stronger.

Upon reflection I take responsibility for at least half of what happened to me. There are a number of things I could have done differently and wish that I had. While reading this list please view it as my advice to myself in retrospect. One size does not fit all and your mileage may vary. Professional Dominants who read my blog are encouraged to provide feedback. I acknowledge that this post is written from a male/client centric point of view.

And now the list;

1) Do your homework
Carefully research the Mistress you want to see. Compatibility is very important and not all Dominas are created equal. There are some great ladies listed in my “Like Minded Travelers” section. Most of them are independents and do not work for a “house”.

2) Be specific about your desires.
Professional dominants are not psychics and they hate it when you say; “anything to please you Mistress”. The best approach is to send a polite e-mail listing your experiences, interests and limitations.

3) Be honest (with yourself) about your motivations.
My advice is to cultivate the quality of self awareness and know your mind and heart before embarking on this journey.

4) Be realistic about your finances.
Budget for sessions and know in advance where the money is going to come from. If money is an issue and you want to session regularly, consider starting a cash business on the side.

5) Cultivate honesty where loved ones are concerned.
Lies create distance and have a way of destroying the foundation of relationships which are built on trust. The truth often comes out anyway and it can do irrevocable damage.

6) Cultivate being a slut.
Variety is the spice of life they say and the path of single minded devotion can be dangerous for an emotionally vulnerable client. In my opinion any pro who demands exclusivity is best given a wide berth.

7) Avoid the politics in the scene.
The politics in the scene can sometimes get nasty. As tempting as it may be to get involved there is no upside to it.

8) Keep your relationship(s) in perspective
You can be friends with a pro as long as you keep the relationship in perspective. Just remember that self deception can be a powerful thing. “Denial isn’t a river in Egypt”. I always liked that one.

9) Relax and enjoy the ride
If you decide to see a pro relax, throw her the keys, let her do the driving and have a wonderful time!

10) Your final destination may surprise you.
Professional domination can be a valuable and enjoyable part of the journey but for many it is not the final destination.

Some of these points I got right, others I got half right, some I got dead wrong. Perhaps I will provide an answer key revealing which ones are which at some later point! ;-)

Computer Privileges Revoked

It looks like all the clicking and dragging and cutting and pasting has finally taken it's toll. I appear to be suffering from a mouse related injury and am experiencing severe pains in my right hand and wrist. Her Majesty has advised me to curtail all recreational computer activity until further notice. I am sure she is right and I intend to obey her wishes. Femdom In Pulp Fiction

Her Way Or The Highway?

I recently ran across a post by Need To Serve on Max Fisch that got me thinking:

When Mistress does something terrible/wonderful to you that you have dreamed about all your life are you really serving her? We subs sometimes confuse fantasy with reality. While it is true that a client may be serving a pro on some level by providing her with money she needs to live, most of the pros who responded to this post made it clear they draw a distinction between sessions and service.

For lifestyle subs the distinction is probably a little clearer. When I bring Her Majesty coffee in bed, clean the kitchen, give her a back rub, vacuum, make her tea or give her a foot rub (with no reciprocation) I am serving her. When she canes me, sodomizes me, uses my face as her throne, zaps me with the ErosTek or allows me to orgasm at her feet she is playing with me. Service and play are related. They share a symbiotic relationship that keeps everything in balance. It's not exactly a "tit for tat" relationship though. At the end of the day Her Majesty is the one who decides whether we play or not. I may always ask for a session but her word on the subject is final. This post brings up a question I have often wondered about; do Dommes get something different out of a D/s relationship than subs do?

I suspect that most Dommes are A type personalities who enjoy being in charge. A Domina may enjoy being worshipped and adored. She may love being pampered and served. She may relish having control over her submissive. A D/s relationship may tap into a woman's maternal instincts. The Mistress/sub relationship can be very loving and nurturing. I think it is rare that women are genuine sexual sadists however. (Dominant ladies please feel free to correct me if I am wrong here! I have often pondered the question; "what do dominant women get out D/s relationships?" I would be most gratified if you would share your thoughts on the subject!)

Advo put up a recent post called "True Punishment" in which we discussed the question; "does a Mistress/sub relationship have to be her way or the highway?" I believe there should always be clear communication and a sub should be honest with his Mistress about how he is feeling. Relationships are never easy and a D/s relationship involves give and take on both sides just like any other relationship. But in the end I believe Mistress gets to have the final word. If that is not the case then by definition we are not really talking about a Mistress/sub relationship IMHO.

Her Majesty and I have a very loose, flexible set of “rules” that are governed by one overarching principle; she's the boss. Our relationship is not dictated by a strict set of protocols and I think it's probably better that way. Too many rules make things inflexible which is not realistic or practical. That said Her Majesty is truly a dominant woman. She is not merely acting out my sexual fantasies to please me. She takes my feelings, needs and desires into consideration. But at the end of the day it’s her way or the highway.

Femdom on Film (Episode 1)

During Episode 4 Season 2 of Boardwalk Empire we are invited to an S&M birthday party. Mayor Bador (played by Kevin O'Rourke) is held down by a bevy of lingerie clad beauties while a lovely call girl dressed in classic leather dominatrix attire orchestrates his birthday whipping. Gillian Darmody (Gretchen Mol) is the mother of his son and his former mistress. She takes responsibility for his care and refuses to send him to the hospital. While Gillian vainly attempts to feed him she strolls down memory lane. She asks the Commodore if he remembers the first time he made her acquaintance. She was barely a teenager when he raped her for the first time. She recalls him groping her with one hand while covering her mouth with the other so she couldn’t scream. We watch as she returns the favor; beating the Commodore senseless as he lies paralyzed on the bed, unable to resist or fight back. The episode closes with a long shot of Gillian slapping the Commodore across the face with all her might again and again and again…

I searched in vain for a clip of these scenes on youtube. All I could find was the trailer at the top of the page which shows the birthday party scene for a split second at the very end. I will keep searching. They will probably turn up eventually. In the mean time I highly recommend that you watch the latest episode of Boardwalk Empire if you have HBO.

Blogging Is Always Evolving

Sunday is my 3rd blogiversary! Hard to believe I have been writing this blog for three years. It seems like my blogging is always evolving. Sometimes I lose sight of why I do it and think about calling it quits. Then someone will make an insightful comment or put up a great post on their blog and I think; "That's why I do this!"

My friend Advo recently expressed the feeling that "our kinks are not all that important”. In the big picture compared with the necessities of day to day life or the problems we face as citizens of the world I would have to agree. On the other hand my kinks constitute an important piece of my sexual identity. They also have strong connections to my emotional and psychological makeup. I try not to take myself too seriously but, as a kinky man, my kinks are very important to me.

When I first started posting I was working through a lot of confusion about my experiences with professional domination. I am through that morass and only refer to it occasionally now. I think I have a more balanced, objective, realistic view of what professional domination is all about than I once did. It no longer has much relevance to my life but I still think about it sometimes. Perhaps I will write about it again someday now that I feel clearer about it.

I have shared a lot about my relationship with Her Majesty here. I have written accounts of many (though not all) of our sessions together during the past four years, shared about milestones like our 25th anniversary and have occasionally posted about relationship issues, stumbling blocks and growing pains. I have recently been going through a period where I don't feel comfortable giving a blow by blow account of our relationship. Her Majesty was startled by how quickly I posted about one of our sessions awhile back. She accused me of only wanting to play with her so I could post about it. Nothing could be further from the truth but her words really gave me pause. I am sure I will post about our relationship again but right now I am taking a break.

If I don't post about pro or lifestyle subjects what's left? Recently I have been posting Femdom images that I enjoy sharing. In the beginning this blog had no pictures. Recently I have been putting up posts where pictures are the main attraction.

For me blogging is about feeling connected. I keep in contact with good friends and have made new acquaintances. I spent years of my life not connecting with other kinky folk. I don't want to go back to that. I felt very isolated and I had so many questions that nobody was around to answer. Now after years on bulletin boards and blogs I feel like the answers to most of those questions have been talked to death. But I'd rather that than the alternative. It’s good to know I am here to answer questions for other new subs who are wandering aimlessly through the wilderness like I once was.

It seems like most of the people who respond to my posts are men. Is this blog some kind of subbie bachelor pad? I really love it when ladies drop by to share. I never tire of hearing what it's like on the other side of the whip. But in the final analysis connecting with my subbie brethren remains most important to me.

Where will the blog go next? I have no idea. That's part of the fun. I never give away the ending. Not even to myself...

Tribute To FemDom Artists Part 3

Sardax is the master of his domain. Nothing more needs to be said. His Dominas are beautiful, his eye for detail is impeccable and his scenarios are diabolical. I often find new things in his work even after looking at the same piece many times. He is a truly extraordinary talent. I think I may have featured his work on my blog once or twice before! ;-)

I have always liked Severin’s work very much. This one depicts Bettie Page giving OTK to a slave who is looking a little green.

Soyrayama does exquisite pin up style illustrations of Dominant Goddesses. He is another new discovery for me.

Eric Stanton is one of my all time favorites. A true innovator he has been imitated by many lesser talents. His artwork often depicts beautiful woman dishing out severe, no nonsense discipline to hapless, groveling males. Stanton is truly one of the great masters of femdom art. My femdom flag will forever remain at half mast for this outstanding talent.

I always liked this one by Underling. I think his style communicates real tenderness. Here the poor hubby looks terrified and his wife looks like she means serious business! I have known Underling since he first started posting. Now his unique brand of femdom art can be found all over the web. There is a link to his site in my Kindred Spirits section.

RedRump is a very promising new artist who has just appeared on the scene. His work focuses on domestic discipline and his women are classic 1950s housewives who swing a mean hairbrush! I have linked to his blog in my Kindred Spirits section. Great to know that exciting new talents like RedRump will keep the femdom genre vibrant for a long time to come.

Otto is another exciting new talent who has recently come to my attention. Otto’s blog is also featured in my Kindred Spirits section and I will be following it with great interest.

Vanrod’s style is very reminiscent of Gene Bilbrew. I always used to confuse the two artists. Telling them apart is still tough but luckily this artist usually signs his work.

Vince Ray depicts badass women in a very recognizable style. In this illustration he gives us an extremely provocative “Taste Of Skirt”.

Waldo’s scenes mostly depict domestic punishment. His style is very recognizable. Here a domestic domina lays into her lucky SO with a wicked little flogger.

Whizzer Black is another one of my all time favorites. It’s not easy to create something that is simultaneously erotic and humorous but Whizzer somehow manages to pull it off! Thanks to my friend Aarkey for introducing me to this outstanding femdom artist! Great stuff!

Xrenderer is one of my favorite of the 3D computer graphic style artists. I find his work extremely erotic. He draws a mean leather boot and his Dominas are always cruel and beautiful. I very much enjoy the use of the humbler in this one. Nice touch!

Last but not least here is one by Japanese artist Yamashiro, depicting a Mistress sodomizing her slave while sucking a lollypop. Sweeeeeet! His work can be found on the site: slug on leather.

Tribute To FemDom Artists Part 2

Montegurel depicts old fashioned scenes of extreme depravity. I have always liked his work very much and have featured him in previous blog posts.

Namio Namio Namio. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways! Mr. Harukawa is unsurpassed in his depictions of ass worship and queening. This picture should be titled simply “dinner time”. Obviously the meal is quite different for Mistress than for her sub.

Nanshakh is not featured on the Femdom Artists website but I wanted to include one of his illustrations in this post anyway. His depictions of beautiful Dominas mercilessly punishing their slaves are elegant and exquisite. He is another one of my favorites

Nic Guerra depicts classic bad girl Dommes just the way I like them.

Nimrod is another highly original artist. All of his Mistresses are black. All of the slaves are white. I find there to be a comic aspect to his work. Not necessarily a bad thing.

Nomad is another of the 3D style artists. This picture of a woman caning her sub is quite nice me thinks.

Puyrel is quite prolific. His work can be found all over the net and his style is quite recognizable. Looks like this slave is getting in some foot worship under the table. Another artist who seems to work exclusively in black and white.

Rubex always depicts medical scenes in which cruel dominas perform surgeries and experiments on hapless male patients. Can she be applying anesthetic in this one?

Robert Bishop has sometimes been called the Rembrandt of bondage art. This illustration can perhaps demonstrate why. He is another artist who prefers black and white.

Sandra Chang’s art is quite beautiful and often takes on fantasy elements. I have featured her work in my blog before. I like the scenario pictured here. Anyone ever worship a Goddess in an elevator? ;-)

Tribute To FemDom Artists

Hi F/folks:

I wanted to do something special in honor of my upcoming 4th blogiversary and decided on a tribute to femdom artists. As everyone knows I am a huge Sardax fan as well as an Eric Stanton aficionado and a Namio Harukawa freak.

There is a wealth of fabulous femdom art out there. A new artist who calls himself RedRump has recently appeared on the horizon and I linked to his blog in my “Kindred Spirits” section. I have a special place in my heart for Underling who asked me to post some of his early work before he put up his own blog. His art can now be found all over the web. I knew him when...

I have recently been giving myself carpel tunnel downloading images from a site called femdomartsits.com. I have found browsing this site to be very educational. I can now differentiate between several different femdom artists with similar styles whom I used to lump together and I have been turned on to a wealth of new artists who I had never heard of before.

Without further ado I will introduce you to some of the artists featured on that site in alphabetical order:

What better place to start than with an artist named Annmo Night? This artist’s work is seriously sadistic! His “Bizarre Nightmares” series depicts extreme torture from the bowels of hell. His artistic technique is quite accomplished but safe sane and consensual these scenes are not!

Agnes is one of a series of artists who utilize a realistic 3D style that relies on computer graphics. Here she depicts a slave kneeling in front of his Mistress.

Banjo is another artist who works in the ultra realistic 3D computer generated style. This smiling Domina looks very pleased with herself for having turned her subbie's bottom bright red!

Barb’s work is very realistic and displays a depth of feeling and tenderness.

Gene Bilbrew is considered one of the maters of the genre. If all circus lion tamers looked like this you would frequently find me at the big top.

Bill Ward is another famous femdom artist. Many of his illustrations depict dominas with freakishly large breasts. That never really did it for me. I prefer his softer lingerie beauties. Here they are depicted gathered around him while one lights his cigarette.

Carlos Diez does a really nice job of depicting Dominas in the classic pin up style. Hey wait a second! Why does she look so familiar?

Chris of England does a really nice job with lingerie, leather and heels though I am not quite as fond of his depiction of facial features. For that reason this may be the perfect Chris of England illustration...

Dave Stevens work is totally classic IMHO. I had never heard of him before. His sirens can be cruel or playful and they are undeniably sexy!

EmmaS is probably the most sadistic of the artists to work in the realistic 3D style. Some of the scenarios depicted in her work are utterly and completely twisted!

Endartist seems to be exclusively dedicated to corporal punishment. His style is a bit amateurish but I thought it was worthy of inclusion.

Famio is one whose work I always confused with other artists. He seems to work exclusively in black and white.

Love this old fashioned flapper style domina depicted by Leon Frollo. She seems to whisper; “come hither but proceed with caution!”

I have always enjoyed Gregor’s work and have featured it in some of my older blog posts. His alias is obviously inspired by Venus in Furs and Wanda is often featured in his illustrations.

Jack Rhodes features sexually explicit drawings of mostly naked women tying up men and forcing them into submission.

Jayem’s illustrations mostly focus on domestic discipline so this fantasy whipping scene is pretty unusual. It's titled "Ancient Matriarchal Punishment". I like the hourglass timing the beating. Nice touch.

Apparently there are a lot of “Jim’s” who do femdom art.

Jim of Germany. I always liked this illustration. I imagine switching places with this gent. It must hurt so good…

Jim of Holland really gave this Domina some personality. She looks positively wicked.

Love this picture of Mistress out for a midday stroll with her well manacled sub. Quite a public display by Jim of Switzerland.

Kahori is one of the Japanese artists I very much enjoy. There is a genuine tenderness to be found in much of his work.

Kami Tora depicts cute little ladies thoroughly reaming and torturing helpless boy toys with extremely large penises.

Irving Klaw is one of several artists who seem to have borrowed heavily from Eric Stanton. I have difficulty telling the difference. But how about the title of the illustration? Little Gay Girls? Really?

Lain’s style is unique and a little bizarre. I find something a bit dark about it.

Laurent Lebeau is another artist with a very unique style. It is impossible to mistake his work.

I Am Powerless...

I admit I am powerless over sexy high heeled shoes, femdom erotica and that my life has become unmanageable. I have come to believe that a power greater than myself (a.k.a Her Majesty) can restore me to sanity.

Amazingly I did end up with a large bag full of books to throw out. We piled the shoe boxes up by the bed. I brought the bag full of erotica down to my study. I decided to keep some of the books that had been destined for the trash. I stuffed these titles in my closet beside my collection of femdom erotica on CD and DVD. More than two weeks later nothing has been thrown out yet. Am I a hoarder? I admit I am powerless and that my life has become unmanageable…

You Can't Always Get What You Want

In my relationship with Her Majesty I am the one who suggests play. I must request, never demand. I must accept Her Majesty’s answer with no pouting, sulking or gnashing of teeth. In many ways Her Majesty remains a mysterious dark continent to me. I have come to understand that I should not take these little setbacks personally. In many ways this situation is analogous to a husband asking his wife for vanilla sex and being met with the time honored response; “not tonight dear I have a headache.” When this happens any vanilla husband worth his salt knows he must pick himself up, dust himself off and try again later.

Having the house to ourselves is a necessary but not a sufficient condition for a session. Her Majesty must also be in the mood or it isn't going to happen. It is worth noting that "play" can refer to many different activities not all of them noisy or requiring absolute privacy. I am fortunate to be the recipient of everything Her Majesty gives to me. "My Girlfriend Comes To The City And Beats Me Up" is closer to a work of serious literature than a piece of standard FemDom erotica. I could have been reading William Burroughs or Charles Bukowski and I was unable to put it down. Although Stephen Elliot fictionalizes here and there his tale is basically autobiographical. He confesses he has never been very good at writing fiction. Whether “Girlfriend Comes to The City” is memoir or fantasy it is abundantly clear that Mr. Elliott writes very well indeed.

Stephen Elliot’s narrative is spellbinding and often harrowing. He tells the story of a submissive male masochist coming to grips with his identity and trying to find happiness. The chapters of his book read like short stories although they are loosely connected and share some of the same characters. His kinks stem (at least in part) from abusive episodes during childhood and adolescence. As Mister Elliot puts it he is “eroticizing his trauma”. The author makes frequent references to his abusive father. He is kicked out of the house and condemned to live on the streets when he is barely fourteen. Shuffled from one state home to another, he is molested by some of the counselors entrusted with his care. At one point he runs away and spends a year living on a roof top. He is no stranger to drug abuse. As he puts it he would “take anything that was put under his nose.” In “My Stripper Year” he performs as a stripper in a gay club and shoots heroin in back alleys. A hotshot lands him in the hospital paralyzed for eight weeks. “I didn’t strip again”, the author tells us, “or do heroin. I got a master’s degree”.

By the time he is in his thirties Elliott is working odd jobs and pursuing a career as an author. One dominant female love interest calls him “Tolstoy”. Driven by dark masochistic desires he searches for meaningful connections on the Internet and goes on a series of harrowing blind dates. He has frequent but short lived forays into extreme masochism and becomes involved in a series of doomed relationships. While staying at a youth hostel in Europe he watches a female sadist perform in a live sex show. She takes him back to her Amsterdam hotel room where she ties him up, cuts him with a knife, burns him with a cigarette and takes his virginity with her strap-on. In “Other Desires” he becomes involved with a married woman who demands his undying devotion then beats him quite severely. He shows up to work the next day with cuts, bruises and a tell tale shiner. In "What It's Like in San Francisco" he befriends an angry young lesbian poet who has her way with him in a bathroom stall. They are destined to be “just friends” although the author tells us she later forces her entire fist into his mouth for a lark. After traveling down many blind alleys Elliott finds happiness in a polyamorous relationship with another married woman. For the first time he finds both the domination and the unconditional love he desperately craves. The transformation he undergoes by the end of the book is profound.

In a field full of formula D/s porn “Girlfriend Comes to the City” was a revelation and an extremely pleasant surprise. At only 122 pages you should be able to devour it in the course of an afternoon or after a few subway rides. Trust me it’s worth the investment of time. I hope you enjoy Mr. Elliott’s evocative writing as much as I did. Thanks to my good friend Advo for bringing this remarkable book to my attention.

Royal Birthday Celebrations

Her Majesty and I shared one of the happiest summers in memory. It ended with a spooky trembling of the earth's core and a lashing of wind and rain that shut down the east coast. Now those happy times will fade into memory as my Queen and our son return to school. This is a big year for our son. He is a senior in High School. Our primary purpose will be to prepare him for college. No doubt it will be a hectic and stressful autumn.

Meanwhile as the summer ends we prepare to celebrate Her Majesty's birthday! As it happens Her Majesty and my mother were born a day apart. We traditionally celebrate their birthdays together over the Labor Day weekend. There will be much feasting and giving of gifts!

Happy Birthday Your Majesty! You are the light of my life and the wind beneath my wings! Thank you for making me the happiest husband in the world and for fulfilling my wildest dreams. You are my Queen, my best friend and the love of my life. Like a fine wine the love we share just keeps getting better!
